Society members should receive a letter shortly outlining the proposed changes to the Society entity along with a voting form prior to the EGM on the 7th September when a final vote count will be concluded. Please make every effort to vote and attend the EGM if you wish to make a contribution to the meeting.
Please note only fully paid up members will be allowed to vote.
The proposal is to create a new society with a Charitable status, namely Leeds Society of Model & Experimental Engineers, CIO. ( Charitable Incorporated Organisation). When and if the above has been granted by the Charity Commission, we will transfer all the assets and members to the new Society and wind up the old Society. The existing Rule book will be retitled and refer to the formal Constitution as well as containing references to Operational procedures, Safety and day to day functions etc.
